xiamen shimao strait tower, located in siming district, xiamen city, fujian province, is a "twin tower" skyscraper which, upon topping out, became the tallest building in xiamen. 

the design embodies its architectural vision through geometry and symmetry, shaped like unfurled sails and incorporating the creative inspiration of xiamen's city flower, the bougainvillea. as the building is situated by the water, the facade of its podium is designed to echo the coastal waves.
